NIRVANA UNPLUGGED:
THE FIRST LUXURY HYBRID SPORTSCAR

James Bond, meet Al Gore. The first eco-chic luxury sports car, the Fisker Karma, brings together strange bedfellows that hit it off remarkably well. Cutting edge design and the latest hybrid technology join forces to create a quintessentially modern vehicle that will take you straight to heaven.

Henrik Fisker, the former design head of Aston Martin and BMW, is the man behind this sleek green sports car. Responsible for some of the most renowned car designs of our time—including Aston Martin’s DB9 and V8 Vantage, and the BMW Z8 roadster that starred alongside 007 in “The World is Not Enough”—he has now produced a car that sustains more than the glamour quotient. The Fisker Karma manages to be environmentally friendly without sacrificing luxury, good looks or performance.

The Karma is a true plug-in hybrid, with an electrical system that is good for 50 miles of “stealth mode” driving (all electric and emission-free) every day, providing it’s charged overnight. Equipped with the innovative Q-DRIVE, it incorporates an engine that powers a generator, which in turn charges the battery that powers the electric motor. In “sports mode,” the Karma can go from 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds flat and reach a top speed of 125mph. And in the luxury department, it’s fully equipped: DVD and navigational systems, roomy seats and space for two sets of golf bags.

Inspired? Fisker is already taking orders for delivery in late 2009/2010.* The first 99 cars off the assembly line will be individually numbered and signed by Henrik Fisker himself. Say your prayers and, for $80,000, good Karma can be yours.
