The Huntress. If Oppenheimer’s fur teacup was high art, we can claim no less for these irresistibly sensuous indulgences.
Miss Scarlett. So brazen, so divine, so positively Vreeland. You’ll get attention for all the right reasons.
From the start, Calvin Klein Collection has always been about luxurious minimalism, but Francisco Costa has brought new depth and dimension to the line. This season’s collection was precise and assured, a study in shades of grey with outerwear in loose, graphic shapes complementing sleek, body-hugging dresses.
The beauty of Marie Christophe’s work lies in the way it brings art into the everyday. Her glossy wire creations, occasionally dotted with colorful beads or crystals, are supremely functional in addition to being highly decorative. Even her animal pieces take on the role of beloved pet or house mascot!

Is It You?
Although there are a few lucky souls who enter this world with a distinctive personal style already much in evidence (think of Harper Lee’s portrait of the very young Truman Capote with slicked-back hair, short pants and suspenders), most of us grow into ours after much observation, experimentation and, yes, disaster. But when we finally hit our stride, when we know at a glance if something is right for us—from that gorgeous lantern at a Thai flea market to that embroidered dress velvet dress that haunts our dreams (until we return to claim it) to that villa in Umbria we rent virtually sight unseen—a wonderful sense of confidence overtakes us. And therein lies the paradox: for confidence is required to achieve your personal style. It’s what helps us resist the fad, the disposable. I’m certainly not oblivious to the season’s trends but every piece I buy must justify itself on its own terms—it is transformative? flattering? enduring? breathtaking? These are the questions that I force myself to ask every time my pulse starts racing at the sight of some new find. I hope that as you look through these pages, as you sift through the treasures we’ve sought out or stumbled upon, you ask the questions that resonate for you. And I hope that in this eclectic mix of the utilitarian and the sublime, this playground of possibilities, you find plenty of reasons to answer a resounding “YES!”
